Villa Talon, a splendid location for public and private cultural events in Bologna
Villa Talon is a large aristocratic estate from the 16th century, located at Volta Reno in Argelato, a short distance from Bologna, a city with a rich and lively artistic and cultural tradition. Just for this reason, the Villa is the ideal venue for a wide range of private and public cultural event, including art exhibitions, premiers, book presentations and other refined, exclusive events. The estate, with its splendid frescoed halls and immense park with plants that are hundreds of years old and covers an area of over 25 acres, offers an impressive, unique atmosphere that is ideal for the celebration of creativity and culture of all kinds. Villa Talon is open from April to July and from September to mid-October, and can be rented for one or more days, depending on the complexity and duration of the event.

Villa Talon offers a variety of versatile, inviting spaces that adapt well to the needs of every type of cultural event, from the large, luminous halls on the ground floor of the Villa to its lovely old park, extending over more than 25 acres. The lawn in front of the Villa is about more than 60,000 sq. ft. larger than the area of Piazza Maggiore in Bologna, and can easily accommodate exhibitions, expositions and other events, without any limit on the number of participants. If the event is attended by as many as 500 people, in case of rain, it will be possible to move inside the Villa, and proceed without interruption.
The interiorrooms of the Villafor art exhibitions,readings and round tables
The spacious rooms in the Villa can accommodate up to 500 people for a buffet, cocktail party or coffee break, or 250 people seated at tables. The variety of the settings makes it possible to organize the event based on the number of participants and on the activities planned. For example, the spacious Loggia, with an area of over 1,000 sq. ft. is ideal for the most imposing events, from a sumptuous gala charity banquet, to a round table or lecture for about 250 people. The other splendidly frescoed rooms are perfect for literary and theatrical readings, exhibitions and shows of modern and contemporary art, highlighting fascinating contrasts between tradition and innovation.
With a total of 5 rooms of different sizes, suited to the most exclusive events, Villa Talon offers a wide range of options to satisfy every requirement. Moreover, the possibility of organizing events both indoors and outdoors adds additional flexibility and charm for anyone looking for a unique location of exceptional historical, artistic and architectural prestige.
The monumentalpark forlarge-scale events
The monumental park is the crown jewel of Villa Talon. The vast external spaces not only create a lovely setting for open-air concerts, art exhibitions and other events, but can also accommodate large-scale expositions and cultural events, both public and private. On both façades of the Villa there are immense lawns ready to accommodate hundreds of participants.
On the side that faces on via Lame, we have the impressive Prato Serraglio lawn measuring over 375,000 sq. ft. It is borders by a double hedge and is square-shaped, accessible from the park and from the majestic tree-lined driveway leading to the Villa. Thanks to its enormous size, it provides a perfect setting for any large-scale outdoor event, from concerts to conventions, ensuring a uniquely impressive atmosphere.
At the back of the Villa we have the Prato del Pozzo lawn, protected by the park and facing west. It is an elegant, intimate space, ideal for locating more exclusive events, like art exhibitions, theatrical happenings, poetry readings and much more.
Guest parking
The parking area covers a large section of the land, originally used as a paddock. It is separated from the rest of the estate and protected by high hedges. This keeps it out of sight and at some distance from the areas dedicated to the reception so as not to create a disturbance during the banquet and celebration.

Pets are welcome if the owners ensure that they will not disturb the other guests or damage the property, acting in respect of the provisions of the regional laws on the subject (Regional Law no. 5/2005 and its subsequent amendments and additions).

The Villa’s wi-fi network is free for all clients and their guests. On the day of the event, we’ll communicate the passwords for access to log in.

For the day of the event, it is possible to provide particular lighting effects and an audiovisual service (on request).

Five rooms in the Villa can also be used to host events, all located on the ground floor:
- The Loggia is the largest of these, with an area of 1,015 square feet (58 x 17.5 ft.),
- The Sala delle Grazie is the second largest, measuring 840 square feet (35 x 24 ft.)
- The Sala San Francesco comes next, measuring 665 square feet (34 x 19.5 ft.)
- The Sala da Pranzo, or Dining Room, is the smallest and most intimate dining room, measuring 540 square feet (24 x 22.5 ft.)
- The Billiard Room measures 665 square feet (34 x 19.5 ft.)
Villa Talon does not operate its own restaurant, but the kitchen is equipped for catering, with ample space and all the connections for burners and ovens, at the disposal of the company chosen for the catering service. We do not have a catering service but will be happy to recommend a selection of suppliers of known quality and reliability with whom we collaborate regularly.
