Villa Talon, the location for weddings, ceremonies and receptions, close to Bologna
Villa Talon is a large aristocratic estate from the 16th century, located at Volta Reno in Argelato, a short distance from Bologna. In the 500 years of its glorious history, it has received the visit of popes, kings and celebrities of all kinds. It is a unique location for its history and beauty, and the perfect venue for events like weddings and elegant ceremonies, in the marvellous park surrounding the villa and in the sumptuous frescoed halls of the Villa itself. The estate is open from April to July and from September of mid-October, for wedding receptions, christenings and other elegant and exclusive private events.

At Villa Talon, only one event can be organized per day, ensuring the maximum privacy and exclusivity to the wedding party and guests.
The spaces availablefor events at the Villa
Villa Talon offers a great variety of spaces, enabling its clients to hold their events in the marvellous monumental park, that extends over more than 25 acres, as well as indoors, in the splendid ground floor rooms. This means that, in case of rain, it will be possible to move indoors without any difficulty.
The frescoed halls
Inside the Villa, the luminous, frescoed rooms can comfortably hold up to 500 people for a buffet, a coffee break or a cocktail party, and up to 250 people seated at tables. In the Loggia, the art work depicts galloping horses, honouring the great tradition of the Talon Sampieri family . Other rooms feature mythological representations and allegories for the enjoyment of the guests participating in the celebration. The rooms in the mansion at Villa Talon are large and numerous, offering couples a choice of locations in which to hold the buffet or select a hall for the bridal banquet, the cutting of the cake, a table for the display and distribution of wedding favours and the candied almonds that are traditional at Italian weddings.
The monumental parkand immense lawns
The park is a unique feature of Villa Talon, adding to its magnificence and charm. Nature welcomes the visitors with pathways and plantings that are hundreds of years old, as well as vast lawns that seem to enclose the guests in suspended time, where all is peace and beauty, in which to share the joy of an unforgettable day. The park creates a magnificent setting and is large enough to accommodate weddings and other ceremonies for numerous guests. It provides the perfect framework for couples who wish to celebrate their wedding out of doors, in an impressive atmosphere that is also rich in history.
The vast lawns extend along both façades of Villa Talon and are ideal for receptions in the spring and summer months. On one side, we have the immense quadrangle of the Prato Serraglio lawn, framed by a double hedge. It faces east and is accessed from the park along the driveway lined with oaks that from via Lame leads to the Villa: it’s the perfect place to await the arrival of the bride and groom. On the west side we have Prato del Pozzo lawn, which is smaller and protected by the elegant internal façade of the Villa. It is surrounded by the park and penetrates it for over 300 yards in a play of gentle, irregular curves: ideal for smaller and more intimate weddings or as a buffet area before moving inside the Villa for the banquet.
Guest parking
The parking area covers a large section of the land, originally used as a paddock. It is separated from the rest of the estate and protected by high hedges. This keeps it out of sight and at some distance from the areas dedicated to the reception so as not to create a disturbance during the banquet and celebration.

Pets are welcome if the owners ensure that they will not disturb the other guests or damage the property, acting in respect of the provisions of the regional laws on the subject (Regional Law no. 5/2005 and its subsequent amendments and additions).

The Villa’s wi-fi network is free for all clients and their guests. On the day of the event, we’ll communicate the passwords for access to log in.

Receptions are organized on the ground floor of the Villa. There are rooms of various sizes that adapts perfectly to the needs of the wedding party and their guests:
- The Loggia is the largest of these, with an area of 1,015 square feet (58 x 17.5 ft.),
- The Sala delle Grazie is the second largest, measuring 840 square feet (35 x 24 ft.)
- The Sala San Francesco comes next, measuring 665 square feet (34 x 19.5 ft.)
- The Sala da Pranzo, or Dining Room, is the smallest and most intimate dining room, measuring 540 square feet (24 x 22.5 ft.)
- The Billiard Room measures 665 square feet (34 x 19.5 ft.)
Villa Talon does not have a restaurant, but the kitchen is equipped for catering.
